The iPhone 3G's back panel is different that the first gen. Everything is mounted into it and there are a ton of tiny screws and pins to migrate. Make sure you have a good heavy cup that won't tip over to put all your parts in. If you spill I guarantee you won't find everything.
I bought my new back panel off ebay from pdaparts. It was only $20!
I have replaced about 10 touch screens and LCD's but never the back panel. Do you have any reference videos on youtube you can refer me to or other instructions I could look at? Also, how long did this take you?
ReplyDeleteI think I found a reference video, but its been too long. I'll tell you this much, it was no simple undertaking. I probably spent about 4 or 5 hours.
